Deleting your account and data
You delete your Glossly account yourself, in the app, together with everything stored under it. If you no longer have access to the app, we will do it on a request sent by email.
In the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Go to Settings and choose “Delete account”.
- Confirm with “Delete permanently”.
It takes effect at once: the photos go from storage first, then the account itself, and everything stored under it goes with it. It cannot be undone and we have nothing left to restore it from. If you use Glossly without an account, this is the only way — there is no address from which we could confirm the request is yours.
If you cannot reach the app
Send the message from the email address linked to the account — that's the only way we can confirm the request comes from the account owner. We won't ask for your password or any documents.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, send the message from the address tied to that account.
What gets deleted
- The account and its credentials, including the email address.
- Your care routine, cycle settings, programmes and the history of ticked-off treatments.
- The product shelf together with saved ingredient lists.
- Progress photos along with their AI readings, length measurements and your length goal.
- Points, levels, streak and reminder settings.
What may be kept
Data we are required by law to retain — accounting records for a subscription purchase, for example — stays in our systems for the period those regulations set, currently five years from the end of the accounting year. It is not linked to your routine or your photos.
Routine database backups held by our hosting provider are overwritten on that provider's own cycle. We do not use them to bring a deleted account back.
Crash reports, usage events and messages you sent from the feedback form do not vanish in the same second: they carry your account identifier, but not your hair care data. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days, usage events after 24 months, feedback after 12 months.
Deadlines
Deleting in the app happens immediately. An emailed request is handled without undue delay, no later than 30 days after we receive it; confirmation is sent to the same address.
Accounts nobody uses
If you simply stop using the app, we delete an account created without an email address ourselves: after 30 days if nothing was ever saved under it, and after 12 months from the last activity if something was. An account with an email address waits for you as long as you like.
Subscription
Deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription. You cancel it in your Google Play or App Store account settings — only the store can end it. Do that first.
How we process data is described in the privacy policy.
